Short Hog

What Are You Capable Of?

Our ‘ShortHog’ breaks are a great opportunity to try a variety of new activities, from rock climbing to canyoning, snowshoeing to white-water rafting. With many of these based out of our ‘gîte’ in the Pyrenees, why not pop down for a long weekend and try something new.

WW2 ESCAPE ROUTES

The ‘Chemin de la Liberte’ was the toughest of several escape routes across the Pyrenees during the Second World War; you can follow in the footsteps of history, from France to Spain, on this wonderful week-long trekking holiday. Running from Saint-Girons in the Ariége district of France to near the village of Isil in Cataluña, the Chemin de la Liberté, or Walk to Freedom has been an official way-marked walk since 1994 and can be completed as an excellent and challenging 4-day hike.

66 DEGREES, 32 MINUTES NORTH

The mere mention of the word ‘Arctic’ conjures up images of the great 19C explorers, polar bears and the Northern Lights. One of the five circles of latitude that surround our globe, Warthog regularly operates a 4-day Arctic Challenge in Sweden’s northern tundra, providing an opportunity to mush your own team of huskies, glide through the pine forests on Nordic ski’s and experience the purity of darkened night skies and the dancing northern lights.

Having returned from pulling pulks through Liverpool Land (Greenland) our next project in the far north is Svalbard.
